So Sad

Growing Old
She welcomed me with special warmth
In her neat uncluttered room
‘Tho she tried so hard to force a smile
She wore the face of gloom.
She had always been so full of life
And it really was quite sad
That here and now, all that was left
Were the memories she had.
So we sat and talked of better times
And her eyes came back to life.
She recalled the days so long ago
As a mother and a wife.
I said how very proud I was
To call her my dear friend;
And how the world was better now
For the person she had been.
When I hugged her tight and bid good-bye
In her eye I saw a tear;
And she said, "It’s not the growing old
Or the suffering I fear."
"The thing I find most difficult
That cuts me to the core,
The world keeps slipping from my grasp
And nobody hugs me anymore."

I found this and thought it was so sad
My Mom is in a nursing home and
she is so happy when I visit her.

Broken Zodiac

This story appears in the Peninsula Daily News:
FRIDAY HARBOR — The 126-foot main mast of a schooner often seen in Port Townsend, Victoria and the San Juan Islands snapped while sailing near the San Juans on Saturday.
Two passengers were injured in the afternoon incident aboard the 86-year-old Zodiac, a Coast Guard spokesman said Saturday night.
An eyewitness reported that 22 schoolchildren were aboard for a day sail in clear and sunny conditions when its main mast broke in half and fell across the port side.
The Coast Guard responded to a distress call from the Bellingham-based charter vessel about 2 p.m.
The 127-foot, double-masted schooner was just north of Lummi Island, and the Coast Guard launched an MH065 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station/Sector Field Office Port Angeles as well as two 33-foot response boats out of Bellingham.
 I Love this ship
I will be glad when they get her fixed.
They were so lucky that there were no
serious injuries .

Orchid and Salmon

The center picture is in the waiting room where my friend
Dot is getting her radiation treatment.
She is doing pretty good

The flower is a Orchid that Dot gave me last year and it
bloomed again this year I just love it.
