Working on the Zodiac

Yesterday I had a new and interesting experience. I signed up for a work
party on my favorite ship the Zodiac. This is her in her winter cocoon
We were working inside to turn her into a butterfly.

This is a spar I sanded the whole thing

This is another one I got to varnish this one.

We had a friendly visitor he belongs to one of the crew.

We made things very shiny

We had a wonderful lunch this is the cook and one of the crew
We had African Peanut Soup and sandwiches coleslaw and cookies

When I was leaving this is what I saw .

This is the Ferry Terminal The Zodiac is docked right next to door.

What a lovely day that must have been.
By the way, I love your cloud and sky pictures with the bare branches of trees in the foreground.

Looks like a productive day. I have never heard of African peanut soup before, I will have to search out a recipe.
Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.

What a neat thing to do, Betty. Didn't you feel good helping out like that??? You made the Zodiac SPARKLE... Lunch sounded good also...

Hugs,
Betsy

Maintenance is never ending on those old wooden ships. I love woodworking, but I don't know that I'd love trying to keep up with all that needs doing on a ship that big! It's good that they have volunteers to help though, and one day of it every now and again is just enough to still be interesting but not overwhelming.

Sounds like you had a great time of it.

Happy new week! :o)

Love and hugs,

Diane

That is very neat, Betty. I didn't know you could volunteer for things like that. A great experience.

What a great boat to be able to work on. Looks like you did a marvelous job. The menu sounded mighty tasty too.
